Nontobeko Madiba

Children's Books Author

Nontobeko is a Johannesburg based, KwaZulu Natal born children's book author. She holds an honours degree in Bachelor of Commerce and is a Process Specialist by profession with a 10 year plus career spanning over some of South Africa's largest banks.

Lilama is her first published book that is inspired by her two precious daughters Lisakhanya and Langalethu Madiba and is aimed at keeping African languages alive. Nontobeko is passionate about the need to instil the love of self in young children. She believes children need to see themselves represented everywhere; on screens, in the professionals they interact with regularly - may it be teachers, doctors, etc, and most certainly in the books that they pick up to read!

Nontobeko aims to tell South African stories to all children in a fun and colourful way, stories that may be nostalgic to some whilst completely new and eye opening to others but telling to all, most importantly telling to the young South African child that it's possible to read, relate and retain...... Retain their ethnicity.
